Reusing Demolished Concrete Waste for the Production of Eco-friendly Concrete Blocks
👥 Authors: SMHB Siddik, MNJ Disha
📚 Journal: Journal of Civil and Construction Engineering 12 (1), 18-27
📅 Publication Date: 2026/1/22
🏷️ Keywords: Compressive strength, Concrete blocks, Demolished concrete waste, Recycled aggregates, Sustainable construction
📝 This study explores the use of recycled demolished concrete waste as a replacement for natural coarse aggregates in concrete blocks. Experimental results showed that blocks containing up to 50% recycled aggregates achieved satisfactory performance for non-load-bearing applications. The findings demonstrate a sustainable approach to reducing construction waste, conserving natural resources, and promoting eco-friendly building practices.
Comparative Study on Seismic Analysis of 15-Storey Building for Different Positions of Shear Wall by Using BNBC 2020
👥 Authors: SMHB Siddik, MNJ Disha, M Ahamed
📚 Journal: Journal of Structural Technology 9 (3), 48-59
📅 Publication Date: 2024/12/26
🏷️ Keywords: BNBC 2020, Earthquake, ETABS, Lateral displacement, Shear walls, Storey drift, Storey stiffness
📝 This study evaluates the seismic performance of a 15-storey reinforced concrete building with different shear wall configurations using ETABS and the Equivalent Static Analysis method. The results compare lateral displacement, storey drift, shear, and stiffness to identify the most effective shear wall position for improving earthquake resistance in high-rise buildings located in Bangladesh’s seismic zone.
Pushover Analysis of Different Shapes of Symmetric and Asymmetric Reinforced Concrete Buildings as per BNBC 2020
👥 Authors: SMHB Siddik, MNJ Disha, A Sutrodhar
📚 Journal: Journal of Structural Technology 9 (1), 22-28
📅 Publication Date: 2024/2/27
🏷️ Keywords: BNBC 2020, Earthquake, Plastic hinges, Pushover analysis, Storey displacement, Storey drift, Storey shear
📝 This study investigates the seismic performance of four different reinforced concrete building shapes using nonlinear static (pushover) analysis in accordance with BNBC 2020. Using ETABS, the research evaluates how building geometry influences structural behavior under earthquake loading and highlights the importance of shape in improving seismic performance and safety.
Climate change prediction in the north–eastern area of Bangladesh: a downscale modeling approach
👥 Authors: SMHB Siddik, MNJ Disha, M Faruk, M Ahamed
📚 Journal: Journal of Environmental Engineering and Studies 9 (1), 1-13
📅 Publication Date: 2024/2/09
🏷️ Keywords: Bangladesh, Climate change, Hydrological models, Rainfall and temperature, Statistical Down Scaling Model (SDSM)
📝 This study applies Statistical DownScaling Model (SDSM) to assess future climate change impacts in the northeastern region of Bangladesh. The findings project significant changes in rainfall and temperature patterns by 2025, 2045, and 2065, highlighting potential environmental and socio-economic challenges associated with climate change.
